Ductless heat pumps (DHP) also referred to as a mini split system are the “new electric heat”. Studies have shown that adding them to homes with electric resistance heat (wall heaters, baseboard, and ceiling or floor cable) can reduce customer heating costs by 30% to 50%. They can save 15-20% over traditional ducted heat pump systems where the ducts are run in unconditioned space.
